Ami (ancestors) worshiping:

This festival is a Pre- Buddhist tradition, and is held in every village. Tangshod and Barkhang have the best Abimi. These two villages are more shamanic, and bigger in size and older in history, thus, hold bigger festivals. Whereas, the two villages: Todpa and Nimatang are more influenced by Buddhism. The Abimi festival is in remembrance of ancestors and to receive blessings from them. This festival occurs in mid-May. During the festival, they also worship their clan God, 'Phola'. This festival is like a Venerating their ‘Drabla’ (enemy defeating God). So at this festival they enjoy merry making and they also have competition in riding horses and playing the game of arrows and bows.
